Two Saturdays ago, I uncovered a set of online recipe flashcards for The Rose in Jackson, Wyoming, and selected the Dogstar from their Winter 2015-16 menu. On paper, it came across like an aquavit
Angel of Tombstone or
Brown Manhattan with a touch of
Red Hook. Once mixed, the Dogstar guided the nose towards orange, cherry, caraway, and herbal aromas. Next, a grape and cherry sip flowed into caraway, bitter herbal, orange, and nutty cherry flavors on the swallow.
